Michelle Yeh received her PhD in comparative literature from the University of Southern California.She is currently Distinguished Professor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at the University of California,Davis.Her major publications include monographs in English and Chinese:Modern Chinese Poetry:Theory and Practice since 1917,Essays on Modern Chinese Poetry,From the Margin:An Alternative Tradition of Modern Chinese Poetry,Essays on Modern Poetry from Taiwan;edited and coedited English translations:Anthology of Modern Chinese Poetry,No Trace of the Gardener:Poems of Yang Mu,A Lifetime Is a Promise to Keep:Poems of Huang Xiang,Hawk of the Mind:Collected Poems of Yang Mu,Frontier Taiwan:An Anthology of Modern Chinese Poetry,Sailing to Formosa:A Poetic Companion to Taiwan;Chinese translation:Iconography of the Sea:Poems of Derek Walcott(Chinese translation);and two collections of essays on poetry and aromatics.
