通过对修订的《高中英语课程标准》研读,新课程标准将英语学科核心素养分为四个方面:语言能力,文化意识,思维品质和学习能力。而英语阅读技能作为学生获取知识和信息的重要途径,是高中英语教学的核心部分阅读能力强的学生写作能力也会更强。因此,本文通过一个具体的教学案例来探索如何有效阅读,并把阅读能力融入到语言能力学习中以促进学习能力的有效提升。
一.教学内容说明
Epidemics Explained是北师大版教材模块七的最后一个单元中的阅读课,介绍瘟疫在历史上的流行和发展,学生通过阅读课文,了解文章中的一些科普知识并掌握阅读科普文的技巧。二.教学步骤
1.教学目标 Teaching objectives:Language abilities(语言能力): Students can master the new words in this lesson and practice using it to deal with the exercises. Meanwhile, get familiar with the reading strategies.
Culture qualities(文化意识): Students are able to grasp the features and effects of various epidemics in the history and get to know the importance of handling epidemics..
Thinking qualities(思维品质): Get students to know how to get the main idea of the text they have read and understand what they can learn from the text.
Learning abilities(学习能力): Students are able to make full use of reading strategies and learn how to sequence information.

3. 教学重点Teaching Important Points:
To get familiar with some words and phrases related to the epidemics
To learn reading Strategy for sequencing of information To be aware of the importance of hope and cooperation in handling epidemics

7. 教学步骤设计Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in导入 The teacher presents a video to arouse students’ interest in the topic--- Epidemics Explained.
Step 2 New words生 词 Ask a question according to the context and pictures, can you guess the meaning of the new words.辅助学生学习课文中的新词,为理解课文内容做准备。
Step 3 Practice练 习Ask students to practice using new words.通过小组活动的形式鼓励学生积极参与课堂活动和任务解答。
Step 4 Reading阅读 The teacher guides the students to get to know the reading skills- sequencing of information.
Get students to match the five passages from A-E with the gaps 3.5.8.10.12.
Read the text carefully and then ask students to find out the detailed information to fill in the table.活动以个体思考和集体讨论结合的方式培养学生阅读能力,指导学生仔细阅读文章并找出细节信息回答问题。
Step 5 Consolidation巩 固Encourage students to think about the purpose of the text and then ask some to present the answers.鼓励学生们讨论写作文章的目的。
Step 6 Discussion讨 论Show students a public-service advertisement about epidemics and ask them how to keep away with epidemics in our daily life小组讨论怎么预防传染病以引发思考。
Step 7 Homework 作 业Write a passage about how to prevent epidemics.学以致用以训练学生自主学习能力。
三.教学反思
本节课是阅读课的一次很好的探索,通过课后反思总结出以下几点:1.阅读是英语教学的重要环节,因此教师在阅读教学中应该落实实践英语学科核心素养以促进学生英语语言能力,文化意识,思维品质和语言能力的有效提高。
2.自主合作探究。课堂上应该多采用小组协作的学习方式以提高学生协作能力的提高。在进行阅读时要求学生通过相互合作的方式促进他们发现问题,探究问题和解决问题的能力。
四.结语
总之,在核心素养理念下高中英语教学中,教师要把培养学生的学习能力作为教学的重要目标,在教学过程中为学生发展学习能力创造有利条件,培养学生的自主学习,合作学习和探究学习的能力。只有结合教学内容和师生实际,与新课程改革所倡导的理念有机结合,才能最大限度地发挥其优势,有效促进教学。
